Most often than not, these notices are spam… .advertising other stuff (usually crap!!!) and their sims in the guise of art and its promotion to attract visitors and increase traffic . Blurried eyed and exhuasted from the lack of sleep and tidying (or rather trying to tidy) my extremely messy and overloaded inventory, my annoying pop-up notices showed it’s “ugly” self…

Two notices that appeared almost simultaneously – “Cat Boccaccio has a fresh new erotic exhibit, opening at Salon de Re’age” and “StarZ Art Corner Sexy Man Contest~ The voting has begun!!”.

HHAHHAHHAHa as I ROFL and LMAO and BMBWFOCL (that’s Bruised My Butt Whilst Falling Off Chair Laughing – Just made that one up.. pretty cool huh?).

Surely, what has this got to do with art? Anyway, I decided to go check it out!! What have I got to lose? It’s not like I’m doing anything of vital importance at the moment, say like World Peace or even World Domination for that fact!! Hee hee.

First stop – Destination: Salon de Re’age for Cat Boccaccio’s Erotica. I took the limou and tp’d myself over to Salon de Re’age over at Roiss2.

I arrived in a gallery full of people with name tags like Lord this and lord that and Ms Something-or-rather, and upon rezzing, realised that most of the guests are “chained and owned” by their master and mistresses…. Hmmmmmmm.. not really my cup of tea. So, after having said my greetings to Cat, I went on my way to explore and view her exhibition.

I looked around but didn’t really stay long as virtual titties and naked women are not exactly my scene. To give credits where they are due, there are some lovely works with great composition and use of colours and light.

Next stop – Destination: StarZ Art Corner Sexy Man Contest. Back to the limou and tp’d myself over to Draconis for some sexy men action.

I don’t really know what to say… When I got there, the place was very laggy and it took a long time for me to rez. And when it does – well, lets just say I wasn’t too impressed with what I saw.

However, there was one shot taken by Silene Christen of a naked back shot of a man covered in tattoos which caught my eye. It was a gem – Beautifully shot and the composition was perfect!!! The shot was entitled “Apollo Lacombe” and I think its the best piece in the exhibition. Truly artistic.

So, is this art? I’ll let you be the judge of it.

The “sparks” were so enchantingly hypnotic that I can’t help but feel like jumping into the art work!!! And of course i did !!! LOL.

The BluBoys Sandbox Art Group was founded in October by the 2ndLife artist Binary Quandry and myself. We thought it would be a great idea to arrange random and spontaneous art events in sandboxes around Second Life. And being a sandbox, you can build to your hearts’ content!!! Our first BluBoys Sandbox Art Group event took place at the sandbox of Southern Danish University on October 9th, 2009 and we were accompanied by two other artists; Silene Christen and Zhora Maynard.

This was a special collaborative event as DJs and artists meet & inspire each other based on a theme that changes every hour. The event lasted for four hours and went extremely well with more than 30 artists attending and collaborating. It was very creative and fulfilling. The four DJs spun the most amazing tunes to accompany the themes.

Both Binary and myself would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the BluBoys Sandbox Art Event on Saturday. We all not only got creative and inspired each other, but also had great fun along the way with wonderful tunes and dancing.
